Application Procedure

Admission into Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts for the Arts Focus programs will be through the TDSB Central Program Admissions Office. Click for more information about the TDSB Specialized Programs Applications and Admissions.

The Central Student Interest Program Application Form Will Be Open November 24 - December 12.

This Year:

Applicant Eligibility

Applicants are eligible to apply for Specialized Programs if, at the time of application, they:

  • meet the age, residency, and citizenship or eligible immigration status requirements to attend a TDSB school as set out in the Admission Eligibility Requirements (PR518); or

  • are currently registered at a TDSB school.

Applicants for Secondary Specialized Programs will have their February and June 2025 report card data included in the application. 

Secondary Mark Eligibility

Applicants for Grades 9 and 10

In order to be eligible, applicants can have no more than 2 of the following marks below the Provincial standard (70%)

  • Language

  • Math

  • Science & Technology

  • Geography

  • History

  • French (Average of 4 areas of achievement)

  • Arts (Average of 4 areas of achievement)

  • Physical and Health Education (Average of 2 areas of achievement)


Prior to applying, applicants can use the Benchmark Calculator to verify their eligibility.

Meeting the report card benchmark, does not guarantee placement in a program. Only eligible applicants will have their demonstration of knowledge and skills evaluated and will be considered for seating based on their overall applicant score.


Applicants not meeting the report card benchmark will be notified by email.

Selection Process for Specialized Programs

All applicants must participate in a demonstration of knowledge and skills.

  • Arts - applicants must submit either a portfolio or a recorded audition with their application submission using the templates provided. 

Applicants will be scored based on their previous year’s report card results (30%) and their demonstration of knowledge and skills (70%). Applicants will be seated based on their application score.

Secondary Portfolio Criteria

Visual Arts

Note: Visual Arts includes design concepts, animation, film and artwork

 Applicants are to upload images of up to six (6) pieces of completed or in-process Visual Arts works.

  • Visual Art could be created using traditional (I.e., drawing, painting, sculpture) or digital (computer) methods or a combination of both.

  • Only one of the uploads could be a single film/video of 15 to 120 seconds in length.

  • Applicants are encouraged to use at least one of the uploads to demonstrate their rough work including: sketchbook pages, images or notes for a completed or in-process (not yet completed) piece of art.

 Reflection

Select one of the your submitted pieces of artwork. 

Applicants are to submit a description of up to 300 words or a 90 second video/audio recording (maximum) describing how the artwork was completed which could include:

  • Methods and materials used.

  • Technology used (if applicable).

  • Your ideas or thinking behind the art.

  • Identifying one challenge you faced creating this artwork and how you overcame it. 

Arts portfolio and audition written and spoken reflections must be prepared without the use of any generative artificial intelligence. All content is to reflect the applicant’s independent and original work.

Applicant submissions must adhere to all TDSB policies and procedures, including P031 - Human Rights. Submissions that contravene TDSB policies and procedures, including the TDSB Code of Conduct will be addressed and the application will be deemed incomplete.

Offers of Admission

The first round of admission offers will be sent out via e-mail on:

February 11, 2026

The first round of admission offers will expire on:

February 17, 2026 @ 4:00pm

Secondary offers will continue to be made each Wednesday in 2026 until February 25, 2026.

No offers will be made after this date and all Central Waitlists will expire on this date.
