Moderns

The predominant language instruction in the modern languages department is French, however, some other language courses are offered when there is a demand. Students should check for these possibilities through course booklets and through the guidance department.

Our courses strive to inspire students to be proficient in French at different levels to suit their personal needs, and these courses are offered at all levels to meet the requirements of post secondary education. Students are encouraged to both read, write, and speak in French and will participate in class activities and individual study activities. Class instruction includes the use of texts, audio visual materials, group presentations, and individual presentations to improve language proficiency.

Students should check their own personal career goals to see if they will need a second language credit for post secondary education. French is offered at all grade levels. Supplemental study opportunities including excursions and travel will be part of student programs.
