NBE3U1 Students Growing Food
Students in NBE3U Grade 11 Studies in Indigenous Literatures, were recently planting strawberries, Swiss chard and lettuce in connection with readings from Potawatomi Biologist, Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Students are focusing on lessening pressure the food system, practicing reciprocal relations and caring for the earth.
Wes Hall Visit to Wexford Wexford
Wexford CSA was delighted to host a visit from Dragon’s Den investor and entrepreneur Wes Hall on April 4. He spoke to our school about his roots in Jamaica, the challenges that he faced growing up in Scarborough, to walking into the board rooms on Bay Street. Students and staff are doing a reading group on his inspirational memoir, No Bootstraps When You’re Barefoot: My Rise From A Jamaican Plantation Shack.
