Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition 2021-2022
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is the formal evaluation and credit-granting process whereby students may obtain credits for prior learning. Prior learning includes the knowledge and skills that students have acquired, in both formal and informal ways, outside secondary school. Students may have their knowledge and skills evaluated against the expectations outlined in provincial curriculum policy documents in order to earn credits towards the secondary school diploma.
The 2021/2022 PLAR Challenge process will kick off with a Virtual PLAR Information Session for Families on January 17, 2022.
WPA @ National Champions Premiere
Some students from WPA were lucky to attend the premiere of National Champions on Saturday evening, December 11, at the Scotiabank Theatre.
The film features Stephan James as the lead character. Stephan and his brother (and Wexford alumni!) Shamier Anderson are great supporters of Wexford Performing Arts. Their company The Black Academy is a Canadian academy for the recognition of talent and fostering of Black Canadians in various industries.
It was a wonderful evening and both Stephan and Shamier were kind enough to meet and chat with the students after the film.
