CultureLINX

This is a revised organization of colours of Wex, where every other week the cultures of Wexford are celebrated in an entertaining way. We will be showcasing information, foods, dances and festivities representing different cultures. Come and celebrate the world, with CultureLINX.

Gay/Straight Alliance

This group promotes awareness, understanding, and respect of sexual orientation issues. It provides students with a forum for discussion and support, and an opportunity to socialize.

The Grad Committee

Each year a group of senior students gather to plan social as well as instructional activities. Responsibilities include preparing the Formal, organizing excursions, and helping to set the agenda for senior information sessions.

Wexford Intramural Team

W.I.T. is Wexford’s athletic council. It is responsible for intramural leagues and tournaments, as well as special events such as: W.I.T. Welcome for Grade 9 students, Walktoberfest, the Viking Challenge, and the Athletic Banquet in June. W.I.T. is a student run organization, which promotes fun and frolic, competitive and cooperative games for students and staff.

Yearbook

Each year the committee produces an outstanding yearbook, which is a pictorial representation of the year in review. If you enjoy layout design and photography, this committee is for you.

Student Leadership

The Student Activity Council

Simply stated, The Student Activity Council is the central governing body of all student activities within the school. Our Wexford SAC is the primary financial supporter for all teams, all clubs, and all events. The SAC also assists in the organization of charity drives, pep-rallies, and student assemblies. The student council acts as a liaison between the student body and administration, diplomatically negotiating the requests of students within the practical guidelines set by administration.

The strength and effectiveness of your Wexford Student Activity Council depends upon you! The SAC relies upon the support of all students in order to have a successful year. The SAC needs you to help yourself. We ask that you, the student, will do your part by enthusiastically supporting school events, and by making positive suggestions to your student council representative.

Let’s pull together WEX and have the best year ever! Show your spirit!

The Student Activity Council Cards and Yearbook

Every student must purchase a Student Activity Council (or S.A.C.) Card for $50.00 which will also be an identity card. This card will prove that you are a student at Wexford C.I. The card can be used to participate in clubs, sports teams, check out Library/Resource material, reserve computers, obtain a parking permit, go on excursions, purchase a T.T.C. Card and receive various discounts. In addition, students will receive a yearbook and a copy of the student planner.
